Terms & Conditions
By applying for entry into the event I agree with the MND Association that:
Registration and participation
- You must be 18 or over on the day of the challenge if taking on a 100km Challenge, 16+ & accompanied by an adult if taking on a Half Challenge, 14+ & accompanied by an adult if taking on a Quarter Challenge. Registration must only be completed by those 18 years or over. If you are under 18 but fit the age requirements of the event, please ask a parent or guardian to register on your behalf.
- I understand that the MND Association have the right to refuse registration or application for a place in an event without providing reasons for doing so and at any time.
- You acknowledge that the MND Association incurs costs as a result of you registering to fundraise e.g. the cost of the charity place and also the cost of producing and sending fundraising packs/t-shirt/fundraising materials. The objective of joining our team is to raise as much money as possible to help us achieve our vision.
Own places
- If you’re registering with your Own Place, this means that you’ve purchased a place directly with the event organiser. The MND Association are not the event organiser, registering with us means we can offer you support to help you get the most out of your challenge.
Charity Places
- We define a charity place participant as anyone who has obtained a place in the event through Ultra Challenge - the third party event organiser and chosen the ‘charity sponsorship option’. This means you have committed to raise a minimum sponsorship as a condition of the place (excluding registration fee and gift aid) in exchange for the MND Association paying a fee for your place.
- If you have chosen charity sponsorship, 50% of the minimum sponsorship should be received by the MND Association within 3 weeks of the event date, giving us time to receive and pay for the invoice from the event organisers to pay for your place. The remaining monies must be paid in to the MND Association within four weeks of the event date. If a deficit to the minimum sponsorship amount remains at this point, we will contact you to discuss plans for paying in the remaining.
- Should you wish to raise funds for a branch or group then you must first raise the above minimum amount. After this amount is reached, we allow for 50% over the minimum fundraising pledge to go to the branch or group of your choice as long as you confirm in writing with us that you would like this to happen and also add a sentence to your online donation page to say funds raised will come to the national office and the specific branch or group you have selected.
- On receipt of your registration from the event organisers, you will be sent a welcome pack including your running vest or t-shirt and fundraising support materials. Our team is here to help. We will provide advice and support to help you with your fundraising and to achieve and exceed your minimum target.
Withdrawal Policy
- You understand that if for any reason you are unable to participate in the event and wish to withdraw, the MND Association could return any online fundraising donations to the original donor if requested. If you or your sponsors feel that donations should be refunded, your sponsors will need to contact the platform where the donation was made directly.
- In the event of injury, or if you can no longer take part in the event, you must inform us by emailing fundraising@mndassociation.org or calling 01604 611860. You must contact the event organisers to refund registration payments made or request a deferral to a future event.
Event Cancellation
- By agreeing to these terms and conditions you understand that the event may be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances which are beyond our control.
- In the event that this happens, we will work with the event organisers to try and ensure alternative arrangements are made. Please note, this is dependent on the terms from the event organisers.
- If we are unable to offer you a place in the same event, we will offer you a place in an alternative event.
- If you are unable to take part in the alternative dates or events that are offered to you, you may be entitled to a refund of your registration fee from the event organisers.
- If you are unable to take part in an alternative event, we advise you to contact all those who have donated towards your fundraising target to say that you are unable to complete your event and that they are entitled to request a refund for their donation if they wish to. Donations must be requested from the platform they were mage; e.g., JustGiving.
