Hitting MND for Six

Organise a cricket themed fundraiser and support the fight against MND.

Today six people will be diagnosed with MND. There will be six more tomorrow and a further six the day after that.

To highlight this reality, we are asking the cricket community to come to the crease and help hit MND for six.

Whether you are a part of a local cricket club, a fan of the county championships or international test series or even enjoy grabbing friends or colleagues together for a game in the local park – the whole cricket community can make a huge difference for the MND community.

Stumped for ideas? Try these cricket themed fundraisers.

Charity Cricket Match: Stage a T20, “local legends” game, or last man standing tournament. Add stalls and collections to boost funds.

Six-a-Side Fun: Get colleagues or friends together for a fast-paced mini cricket tournament.

Cricket Challenges: Run a batathon, bowlathon, or batting contest - with sponsors for every run or wicket.

Club Socials: Host a BBQ, quiz night, dinner, or black-tie evening to raise money off the pitch.

Match Sweepstake: Run a sweepstake for The Ashes, Test matches, or County Championships.

Cricket Auction: Auction signed bats, shirts, or tickets to big matches - great for fans and collectors.

Tom, James and Charlie had a great time with their cricket challenge, honouring their Grandad and raising money and awareness for families facing MND.

"Our Grandad loved cricket. He was a member of Somerset County Cricket Club, so we thought it would be nice to visit all 18 first-class grounds. Lord's was particularly special - it's the home of cricket, and there was a women's Hundred game on. It was surreal to be there."
